With the first two phases of construction of the compus netwrok since 1998, SMMUnet (Second Military Medical University network) has developped into a significant, large-scale and advanced campus network.

As an important sub-project of basic facilities construction for " Project211", the second phase of the project is financed with key funds by SMMU to expand the net on hardware and software. At present, the second phase has basically completed. On the basis of the investment of approximate 1,000,000 RMB in the first two phases, SMMU continues to invest in constructing internal network and joining in the Military Training Information Network.

At present, the Campus Network Information Center of SMMU mainly provides the following services:Video-On-Demand(VOD), FTP, BBS, Medicine Navigation, and Network Education.
