The 50-year history of the SMMU has witnessed loving care from the leaders of our party, our country, the Central Military Committee and the General Logistics Department. The old generation of revolutionaries, including Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, Yie Jianying and Chen Yi, granted glorious interviews to the experts and professors of the University on many occasions. Chairman Jiang Zemin has inspected the University several times, during which he wrote inscriptions, the school motto and the names of the attached hospitals autographically. His earnest teachings and ardent expectations greatly encourage the faculty and other staff members and vigorously promote the construction and development of the University.
