By implementing the "Innovation Project" of Human Resources and perfecting the competition mechanism, the University has been striving to prepare a top-flight scientific and technological force. A number of outstanding figures have been emerging, including Wu Mengchao and Chen Yizhang, members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who are representative of the senior generation; and Cao Xuetao, Wang Hongyang and Xia Zhaofan, who are representative of the younger generation.
